In many a review, Limpd speaks of the time when he had a Glendronach 12 alongside a deliciously crafted Panna Cotta while traveling in Tuscany with his family (i.e. Benita, The Urchins, and his In-Laws). On today's episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table, we finally review the Glendronach 12. Sadly, we have no Panna Cotta to go with it. I guess one out of two ain't so bad.
The Glendronach Distillery was founded in 1826 in the valley of Forgue which is located in the East Highlands of Scotland. At The Glendronach, maturation in Sherry casks is the name of the game, and their core range consists of four different Sherry cask matured expressions which range in age from 12 to 21 years.
Below is a bit of information about their 12 year old expression, aka the subject of today's review:
This superb richly sherried single malt is matured for at least 12 years in a combination of the finest Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks.
