A Review of Jameson Cold Brew

By Boozedancing @boozedancing

For many of us, the standard issue Jameson Irish Whiskey was our gateway to The Water of Life. It's approachable and easy drinking nature leaves you saying, "Please, Sir (or Madame), can I have some more?". While it's a go-to whiskey for many people, this hasn't stopped the fine folks at Jameson from expanding their range of spirits, because if you're anything like us, you're always looking to try something new.

Their latest release is called Jameson Cold Brew. Prior to tasting this, we thought that this would taste like a ready-to-drink Irish Coffee (maybe something along the lines of the extraordinary Irish Coffee that they serve at Manhattan's The Dead Rabbit). Here's what Jameson has to say about their Cold Brew concoction:

Meet our new brew. Introducing Jameson® Cold Brew. Coffee and Irish whiskey are no strangers, but at Jameson we couldn't help but wonder if there was more to their story. So, we found a fresh new angle into a classic partnership with Jameson® Cold Brew.Jameson® Cold Brew combines the smooth taste of triple distilled Jameson® and the richness of natural cold brew coffee flavor into one bottle. This is a perfectly balanced combination of our smooth Irish Whiskey with hints of toasted oak, dark chocolate and a rich coffee aroma.Made with Arabica beans from Brazil and Colombia. With no added sugar.Best served chilled, over ice or in a cocktail and among friends.

To be 100% honest, Jameson's serving suggestions gave us pause. You see, we firmly believe that an ingredient has to stand on its own two feet. To find out if this Coffee & Irish Whiskey mash-up was any good, click the play button on the following video:
