A Review of Ardbeg 10 PLUS a Cocktail Recipe

By Boozedancing @boozedancing

A Review of Ardbeg 10 PLUS a Cocktail RecipeWe're no strangers to the Ardbeg 10, but it has been a while since we've had a bottle in one of our Booze Cupboards. We've always viewed this as a solid and somewhat affordable Islay Whisky that we would never turn down ( click here to read about the time when we tried it alongside an Ardbeg Corryvrecken).

Several weeks ago, a bottle of Ardbeg 10 landed on our doorstep along with a couple of camp mugs and a cocktail recipe. The sender was The Baddish Group, an NYC Public Relations firm that we've worked with on numerous occasions over our almost 10-year blogging and vlogging history. There was a note inside the package, and all it said was, "Enjoy!".

Such a nice word. Pretty much says it all in two syllables.

On one fateful Saturday night, not so long ago, we did just that and had the Ardbeg 10 as the capper to a five-round evening of research at The Murder Table. We also gave the following cocktail recipe a whirl...

The Spirited Ardbeg CIder

  • 4 ounces Fresh Cider
  • Lemon peel
  • Orange peel
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Fresh lemon
  • 1.5 ounces Ardbeg 10

Method: Combine all ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil on the stovetop. Simmer for 3 minutes. Add the Ardbeg 10. Service hot or allow to chill and pour over ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or lemon peel.
