
I know someone who is deathly afraid of pigeons. She will cross the street to get as far away from them as possible. Knowing this, I would still ask her to watch a pigeon release (from a distance) like the one I saw last Saturday at Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Assunção in Santo Tirso. Although she calls pigeons the “rats of the sky” even she would have to admit they look quite graceful and unrat-like while flying en masse, on a mission.
