A Nice Sit Down And A Cuppa… #6 More tea, vicar?
Here’s Karen …
"For a posh treat, there’s little to beat afternoon tea at one of London’s famous hotels. Dukes, the Dorchester and the Ritz are all justly famed for their bountiful, deliciously fussy – as well as just plain delicious – teas, cakes and little sandwiches. A Nice Sit Down And A Cuppa… #6
For afternoon tea “off the beaten track” – that is, in a place where perhaps one wouldn’t expect to find it – the British Museum is the perfect setting.
High up above the great court, the atmosphere is light and airy and the staff most welcoming.
The scones with clotted cream and jam deserve to be celebrated with the best of the artefacts in the whole museum! Which is not to say that they are as hard as marble, of course. But they certainly are national treasures."
Karen leads the British Museum tour every Saturday.
Tea is served at the British Museum between 3.00p.m and 5.30p.m.
