Hello to my followers! It has certainly been a while since I have blogged. Instead of explaining why I was off the grid for a while, I wanted to jump right in to some big news!
David proposed to me on June 21… I AM ENGAGED!
This is such an exciting time for us and our families! Given that wedding planning tips is such a popular, sought after, topic, I knew it would be a great opportunity for my followers to reconnect with me.
The newest series for The Faithful Elephant blog will be the “Destination Wedding Series!” David and I chose to be married outside of our home state for many reasons. Planning a destination wedding is definitely stressful and involves a lot of confidence in your planner (ours is INCREDIBLE, but I will post more on that soon enough). I want to share my wedding journey with each of you!
Before diving too far into what has already been covered for our wedding, I wanted to give you “our story” and the proposal. If you know anything about what has happened to me this year, you will know that David has been by my side since the beginning. I admire his loving and caring nature more than anything in this world. He is truly my soulmate.
Although we only have dated for a short period of time, David and I have known each other since the 5th grade. After befriending each other at such a young age, it was only a matter of time that as adults, we would rekindle a friendship. Who knew that we would fall in love so quickly thanks to mutual friends!
On June 21, 2015, David and I decided to see the newest film by Pixar, Inside Out. Before the movie began, we saw a theatrical short called “Lava.” This short was an adorable story about two volcanos in the pacific (we believe it was Hawaii, which inspired our wedding destination) who fall in love after waiting for “the one” to arrive. Long story short, David decided that after seeing Lava, he had to propose that day, despite his original plan of later the next week.
When we arrived back at his home, he took me out to his backyard, and proposed! It was simple, sweet, and intimate. Exactly as I had hoped. The ring (of course) was as gorgeous as I could have ever imagined. Everything about that day was perfect.
Given that it was Father’s day, it was only fitting to let our father’s know that in spirit of the holiday, they now have another son/daughter for which to love and care. Needless to say, our families were thrilled!
We’re so excited to start this next chapter in our life and I’m so happy I can share it with you all through my blog!
I will not post on specific days, simply because it depends on when certain tasks for the wedding are completed! Stay tuned for more updates on the Clymer Wedding!
