Shabby chic is the style that best describes the lovely home of interior designer and architect Muriel Bardinet. Although it's quite hard to imagine, this serene and poetic Brussels house once was an orphanage and a busy Japanese restaurant in a past life. Muriel did a magnificent job renovating the old commercial space into this charming abode. She had to completely reconfigure the layout to create a comfortable home for her family. But what's truly lovely about her home is the spontaneous mismatch of styles she managed to design.
