A key trend from 2011, color blocking has really made a significant impact on the fashion chart and continues to evolve for future seasons. With any trend there is always a fine line between fashionable and a fashion disaster, but with color blocking it's all about bold, striking and vivid colours blending together... the whole point is to have lots of fun with it.
I'm a sucker for black and white checks and truly fell in love with this Topshop Brush Gingham Skirt. I know this isn't fully just color blocking it's purely an adaptation of it, and adding the Hermes Irving Red Loafers and delicious blue Meli Melo Thela Backpack really set the look off. We have the stunning Whistle Meghan Crepe Dress teamed with the beautiful blue Aldo Wirani Flats. Please note that all these colours work extremely well together and by adding anymore colours would be just too much.
Pink and red is the color blocking combination for the upcoming season and here is how I've created such a look. I have used the Topshop Colour Block Aline Dress as my main piece and added around it, but I've not added anymore colours than just two because it would be too much. As always with a look that's vibrant like this I've opted for a nude shoe.

My style adds the pink and red 'colour blocking' trend but also throws in 'luxe' trend with the various textures. We have a Topshop Faux Fur Collar, River Island Bright Pink Pony Clutch, Moschino Ladies Leather Gloves and a Topshop Freedom Stone Necklace.
Colour blocking pinks and red is all this season and quite frankly I love it. There are some spectacular pieces from MaxMara and Marc Jacobs, but I adore this exciting and innovative Chunky Cable Knit by Stella McCartney. It's a match made in heaven.
