The opposite of road rage
Every once in a while, when there is nothing to watch on the television, you can always find one of those programmes made up entirely of people doing insane things in cars. If it is in the middle of the day, it is likely to be accompanied by a shouty American voice drawing your attention (unnecessarily) to the road rage and insanity on display. The video below, released yesterday by the English-speaking tourist board of St Petersburg, could not be more different. With gentle classical music playing in the background, it shows unadorned footage of ordinary Russian people being good, kind and generous. This is dashboard camera footage the like of which I have never seen, and I am grateful to my friend Viv Groskop for making my day by pointing it out.
