So here I am on February 2nd in Leicester, UK, thinking about ground squirrels looking at their shadows. In reality the only squirrels here are small and gray and looking mainly at the peanuts left out for the birds and any tasty bulbs they can sink their irritating teeth into.Ok, their teeth are not irritating in general, only when specifically sunk into my bulbs (not a euphemism).
So, did the Leicester squirrel see its shadow today? Are we due six more weeks of winter?
We did have some sun so I am living in hope that winter will not be too long this year and will not outstay its welcome.
