Copper Chimney recently opened its fourth outlet in Koramangala, Bangalore. Copper Chimney has been serving since 1972 when it first opened its flagship outlet in Mumbai. Some of the dishes in the menu are taken straight from the day this brand came into existence 45 years ago. Copper Chimney serves North Indian dishes contemporary from region between Peshawar to Delhi. They recently started serving buffet giving customers a sneak-peek into their otherwise vast menu. For the festive season they have a wheel of fortune at the outlet and can get you free dishes or complimentary buffet vouchers among others.
We started the buffet with the Ab-e-Hayat, a soup made out of vegetable stock, coconut water and flavored with turmeric and celery. The soup was rich in texture but light on stomach. The use of coconut water made the taste unique. We even tried the Imli and Orange Sherbet, a unique combination to create an appetizing drink. From the salad section we tried the Greek Salad and the Sprout Salad. The Sprout salad stood out as it was flavorful – crunchy and spicy. The buffet comprises of live Chaat counter. We tried the Papdi Chaat, Pani Puri and the Samosa Chaat. The Papdi Chaat and Pani puri were delicious, just right sweetness, sourness and spicyness.
The buffet has a variety of starters like the Subz Sheekh, Tandoori Khazana and the Paneer Tikka. The Subz Sheekh was deep fried kebab’s with mashed peas, potatoes and spices. The texture was smooth and goes really well with house-made green chutney. But we loved their Tandoori Khazana, a unique tandoori dish of Pineapple and Potatoes. The marination was just perfect, don’t miss out! The Paneer Tikka was influenced from Multan with subtle marination.
For the main course we tried their Pindi Chole, Dal Tadka and the Mix Veg along with Tandoori Butter Roti. The Pindi Chole were exactly as we get on the streets of Delhi. Great on taste. The Mix Veg was out of the world with tomatoes, potatoes and cauliflower. The gravy was very rich and flavorful. The curries went really well with Tandoori Butter Roti. We also had the Paneer Moti Pulao, a rich pulao made with ghee, crispy onions and paneer balls. Can’t go wrong with it.
When it comes to desserts we tried the Gulab Jamun, Cham cham, Moti chur Ladoo, Beetroot Halwa, Cut Fruits and Vanilla icecream with Gems. Absolutely loved the Beetroot halwa made with ghee, milk and beetroot. The sugar was just perfect! The Gulab Jamun, Cham cham and Moti chur Ladoo were good, nothing great about them. The cut fruits consisted of watermelon, papaya and melon.
Overall, this buffet was a holistic North Indian buffet with great price.
