A January Stopover

By Annamoss84 @missanniebean
I always hate January for being a bit flat after Christmas, so having a random night away teamed with being active was just what was needed, but what do you do?
I love a good escape... I don't mean abroad, (although that's always lovely) I mean quick and easy weekend UK escapes.  This weekend my boyfriend and I decided to head off to the Alton Towers Hotel for a spa trip, simply to relax and spend some quality time together.
A January Stopover After contending with the fog on the drive there we finally made it to the beautiful Alton Towers Hotel, we were only staying one night then heading off for some walks nearby - but it was just what we needed. You may or may not be aware but the Alton Towers Park is actually closed at present, so we were just going to have a relaxing time amongst some marvelous scenery.
A January Stopover A January Stopover It's common knowledge I never ever pack lightly, (which most people are aware of) If I am going away my numerous 'just in case' items do tend to always come with me! However I promised myself this time I'd take travel sized items with me...mainly to prove to my other half I didn't always over pack!

NUXE Travel Kit - £9.92

I took with me for my facial routine my NUXE Travel kit.  It contained cleansing water, anti-fatigue moisturizing cream, hand and nail cream, fondant shower gel and multiusage oil.
All of these were perfect in size and ideal for my weekend away.

I couldn't believe how light my bag was after popping these in, as normally it'd be heavy from all the full sized products.
When I used the items I certainly never felt just because they were compact that they didn't contain the quality, infact it was the opposite.  The creams were thick and all smelt delicious and if you can't tell I was really impressed!

Macadamia Natural Oil Hair Sachets

I had five Macadamia hair sachets and after using them I found that my hair felt smooth and soft.  The products themselves are very light and didn't feel like they were overloading your hair at all, so I was extremely excited to discover I could get these essentials in  travel sized sachets.  These were ideal after my day in the spa and swimming pool, great to give my hair a well needed indulgence!  After I'd been swimming I decided to use the Macadamia Rejuvenating Shampoo which they say is ideal for dry or damaged hair, shortly followed by the moistorizing rinse and Macadamia Deep Repair Masque.
The Macadamia hair and NUXE products are great for weekends away, I loved them mainly for their fantastic quality.  You can get them from Feelunique.com
I'd had a glorious back massage and completely relaxed in the company of my gorgeous boyfriend - what more could a girl want?! When we left the hotel we decided we'd stop by Dovedale for a little walk.  I posted earlier this month about how wonderful walking was and how much I love to get out in the fresh air, so this was the perfect end to some rare time together.

I decided to go for my Topshop woolen jumper, leggings, Abercrombie & Fitch bodywarmer and throw in my knitted berry hat.  I was super snuggly in this combo!

I relaxed, I walked andmore importantly I indulged in some time with my most favourite!  Have you planned anything to brighten up your January?
