While the nightlife scene in Macau has previously struggled to live up to the glamour of neighboring Hong Kong, Macau is slowly but surely flourishing into something worth writing home about.

Grub's up
First things first - whenever you hit the town it's always a good idea to line your stomach with some amazing food. Simply taking a wander through the streets of Macau will lead you to some seriously hot and tasty snacks courtesy of the local street vendors. There are several street foods that every discerning tourist needs to try before they leave China, so make sure to sample at least one or two of the delicacies while you're strolling around.
Those who prefer to sit as they eat would do well to check out Portuguese restaurant Fernando's. Portuguese culture has seen a resurgence in Macau recently and Fernando's is one of the best places in town to experience a traditional slice of the colonial history. Located on the Hac Sa beach, the restaurant is famed for its easy-going nature, beautiful garden, and delicious house-made chorizo. Most of the vegetables are grown in the garden and the bread is baked fresh in the kitchen every day.
For traditional Macanese fare, you can't beat Riquexo in Songbo Village. Run by 102-year-old Aida de Jesus and her daughter Sonia Palmer. Offering the most authentic Macanese cuisine available in Macau, the delicious comfort food here is truly something worth making the trip for.
Time to roll the diceOf course, you can't visit Macau without checking out the casinos. But, instead of working your way around each of them trying to find the best one, just head to these two and thank us later. First up, the glamourous Babylon Casino where the Asian Poker Tour is held. As a result of the partnership between Asian Poker Tour and Babylon Casino, two huge poker tournaments are played here every year. Taiwan's Chen An Lin recently won the Macau Main Event at Babylon and there is another event yet to be held - so brush up on those poker skills before you head here as you could find yourself in the middle of a huge tournament!
For the ultimate in luxury and high living, then it has to be the five-star Wynn Palace in Cotai. Owned by Steve Wynn, the owner of the largest casino in Vegas, Wynn Palace is an opulent and extravagant venue that has a serious wow factor. Not only does the building have its own lake but it also has a hotel boasting 1,706 rooms so there will be plenty of space to crash out after a few rounds of blackjack.
Dance the night away
With a full belly and some hard-earned poker chips in your pocket, it's time to hit the dance floor. The most exciting club in Macau has to be the Cubic Club. With names as big as Armin van Buuren and Flo Rida regularly playing sets and this iconic venue, it would be difficult to find anywhere better to dance the night away. Featuring 30,000 square foot over 2 levels of live entertainment space, this is one you do not want to miss.
For those evenings when you want to do a bit of chilling in between dancing, China Rouge is the one for you. Combining an art gallery, chill lounge, cabaret stage and amazing dance club under one roof, this club has a serious wow factor that is hard to ignore.
