Tim & Laura organised most of their wedding while living in London which is no doubt a challenge for any couple, but you certainly wouldn't have thought so with the whole day looking perfectly organised and beautifully elegant (even for a bride obsessed with Pirates haha!) What were your splurge and save items for your wedding?

How did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend when I was up on summer holiday in Nelson. Tim was the bar stud and swept me off my feet...or perhaps that was the wine?!

Tim: The way she embraces life.
Laura: His wicked sense of humour.

In hindsight is there anything you would have done differently?

Whimsical & Elegant

Where did you go for you honeymoon and why?

The dress was a definite splurge. It was the last of this dress made by the designer before she was whisked away by Hollywood to design costumes for the movies.

Do you have any tips or tricks for engaged couples?

The owners of Thackwood Cottage (Karen & Murray) treated our wedding as if we were part of their family. The package deal that they offered was worth so much more than they charged because of the knowledge and connections that they were able to share with us which drove down the overall cost. They were simply amazing and their venue was an absolute dream.

What do you love most about being married?

Living in London made organising a wedding in New Zealand quite difficult. We left a lot to the last minute which added to the stress levels. We would have liked to have been more organised.

We loved the idea of a Caribbean Honeymoon (Laura is obsessed with Pirates) so we spent 9 amazing nights in Barbados.

Enjoy being engaged for a while. Planning a wedding can be stressful and it's important to remember what/who you're doing it for. Make time for each other away from everything else during the process.

Knowing that we have a partner in crime who will love each other for the rest of our lives.
