Not overly, but I'm open to possibilities. This world we inhabit is full of all sorts of wonderful things we don't fully understand.
Why do you love Halloween?I mean, why wouldn't I love Halloween? It incorporates all my favourite things: bats, black cats, death themed aesthetic home decor. I do love autumn in general. I find it to be a magical period in the year - something I think many others share, and which historically led to the rise of so many pagan traditions around this time.
Do you scare easily? It's more jump-scares that get me. I frequently jump at sudden loud noises, though I also seem to make other people jump quite easily - apparently I have soft footsteps.
What's your favorite Halloween movie?I love anything and everything Tim Burton - Coraline is probably my favourite. Horror wise, my favourite films are The Shining (though I highly recommend reading the book, especially for a better understanding of Wendy's character) and The Haunting in Connecticut. The latter contains one of my favourite scenes - when the ghosts and ghouls are suddenly not the scariest thing in the house, rather an aggressive drunk family member is. I think it's very poignant.
What's your favorite Halloween song?I actually really dig Muse's 'You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween'. Though, when trying to think of Halloween songs, 'This is Halloween' by Danny Elfman from The Nightmare Before Christmas always comes to mind... and lives there rent free.
What's your favorite Halloween candy?Chocolate eyeballs are always good, and I do like anything Haribo. Wine gums are pretty good now I think about it, and a good old pick n mix. Honestly, I like most sweets - though I try to be sensible and not overdo it nowadays.
What's the strangest thing you've received while trick-or-treating?I remember one occasion trick or treating with school friends where a lady gave us money as she didn't have any sweets. It wasn't much, probably about 50p at the most. I thought it was great at the time though!
Favorite horror monster or villain?Let's go with Jack Torrance (The Shining). I really love Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the character.
What was your favorite Halloween costume as a child? My favourite that I can remember is this vampire/witch costume. I found it in a random dress up/ cake decorating shop that used to exist near my childhood home. It was a deep maroon and black coloured witchy style dress that came with these huge black lace wings. I remember feeling very powerful in it.
Do you prefer gore or thrillers?Thrillers are more my sort of thing, specifically psychological thrillers. I find them a bit more interesting over gore for the sake of gore, not there is anything wrong with that! Sometimes a good soaking of blood and guts is fun.
Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees (if you had to choose)?Hmmm, I'll go with Michael Myers on this occasion. Both of them have cool masks though.
