This post features products that were sent to me for review. The products were provided to me free of charge, but all opinions are my own.

A Few New Snacks

A couple months ago, I was working from a café in San Francisco and needed a quick energy boost to get me through the evening’s church choir rehearsal. Leah’s Awesome Bars were far and away the healthiest option in the display case, and the Salty Peanut bar I bought turned out to be delicious! I emailed Leah a quick thank you note, and as a follow-up, she sent me all of the flavors to try. Salty Peanut is still my favorite, with a layer of dark chocolate on the bottom and roasted peanuts mixed into chewy, salty-sweet granola. The other varieties are delicious too, and each clocks in around 300 calories, making them a good option for breakfast on the run.

I’m slowly making my way through the large box of popchips that arrived at my house a couple months ago, just in time for Super Bowl snacking. The sweet potato flavor is lower in sodium than the other varieties, and has a subtle sweetness and lots of crunch. I’ve been enjoying these 100 calorie packs as an afternoon snack.

Speaking of afternoon snacks, siggi’s skyr is another good option. It’s full of protein (14 grams per serving), and very similar in texture to Greek yogurt. The Mango & Jalapeno flavor has a surprising, spicy kick and sweet, chewy bits of mango mixed throughout. I’ll be sad when this seasonal flavor is no longer in stores — snap it up if you see it on the shelf!
