Camera Angles
The
camera angles is simply refers the way to compose a shot. By varying the camera angles we can convey different emotions to the audience.
High Angle
High Angle is mostly used to show the character less powerful, hopeless, etc. It shows the character from above. ( It’s like a view from god/ someone more powerful than the character)
Low Angle
It shows the character from below, exact opposite to the high angle. To show our character is more powerful or more significant.
Eye-Level
It is most widely used shot, which helps to get more attached to the audience. We can see the sequence as in real life. Camera angle, composed in a way, according to our eye level.
Birds Eye
It’s a kind of high angle shot which shows directly above the character or things, with a perspective as the viewer were a bird. It is mostly used to give the spatial relation, movements, positions to the audience, which is not viewable to character
Dutch Tilt
It’s a special German Angle, the camera is purposely tilted to one side so the horizon is on an angle. Which is used to show a psychological uneasiness. The best examples of this angle are from the movie 12 Monkeys by Terry Gilliam to portray extreme madness or drug psychosis.
