A Different Kind of Parent-teacher Meeting (from the Archives)

By Stevemiranda

A friend told me this story about what happened at his school today.

A parent-teacher meeting was held after school. When everyone gathered, the student’s mother read a note to her son telling him all the ways in which she loves him. The student’s teachers each took a turn, appreciating him for all the ways in which he’s grown and the joy they experience by having him in the school. Everyone fought back tears at various moments in the meeting, which took no more than 15 minutes.

School doesn’t have to suck.
