A DESTINATION FOR DESIGN

For more than a decade, Architectural Digest has been hosting a phenomenal Home Design Show in Manhattan, and this weekend I had a chance to visit their 12th annual exhibit. With more than 420 exhibitors and over 500 premium brands, the show was truly a feast for the senses—showcasing the hottest trends and newest products in the home design industry. After a couple of hours strolling down aisles and aisles of inspiration, it was very palpable the renaissance for craftsmanship. Although this trend has been in the radar for the past couple of years, it was obvious the love for wood and metal were strong in the show. But one of my favorite sections of the exhibit was Dining by Design—a spectacular display of creativity and glamour presented by DIFFA where various designers were invited to create one-of-a-kind tabletop installations. Some of the participants included Marimekko, Ralph Lauren, Design Within Reach and Herman Miller among others who want to make a difference supporting the fight against AIDS (the whole purpose of the event). These are some of the vignettes I fell in love with. Which is your favorite?
