Discovery Bay photo diary, 20th June 2015. A few weeks ago, some of the crazy Chai clan came to stay with me in Hong Kong. Having been separated for almost 8 months, we spent every moment possible together (sans my work hours of course) and decided to take a day trip to Discovery Bay, a little district on Lantau Island.
Discovery Bay is a bit of an odd one: a mostly residential development spanning a relatively small area on Lantau Island, everything is cooped up and feels like a permanent holiday resort. Private cars aren’t allowed, so residents travel by taxi, buses or golf carts. No, really.
We took a little wander at the seafront, watched Dragon Boat races and laid out at the super crowded beach. Super sunny and humid, but a nice little day nonetheless. Wish I’d packed a bikini!
My favorite thing was that you could see the break taking Hong Kong Island skyline from certain areas of DB. It’ll forever amaze me how much there is to do and see in such a teeny country! Oh, and my tom yum beef salad was pretty good as well.
Hope you enjoyed this little candid update + seeing Babybutter again as much as I did (:
