A year after Amber ended up with Prince Richard we are back to see them getting ready for the Royal Wedding. Is she ready to become Queen and give up her life?
Last year Netflix released A Christmas Prince which went viral in some crazy ways and had everyone talking about it. I was therefore very surprised to suddenly see over the weekend that this sequel had been added onto Netflix but without the big introduction and trailer when signing in. I thought they would really be pushing this one.
I guess with the Royal Wedding taking place earlier this year in the UK it made perfect sense to have this film right? Especially with so many similarities when it came to Royal protocol and a blog? Does that sound like Harry and Meghan much? Ok, I meant a lot. It does make you wonder if they just decided to use a lot of that real life story as part of this plot.
That wasn't the only issue as Amber struggled to still have her own identity and get the family to become more modern. The money in the kingdom of Aldovia is going missing and the people are really struggling in the build up to Christmas with many jobs going. Amber must use her journalist skills in order to get to the bottom of this issue to help Richard before it is too late. I think that added a little bit more to the thin plot of the wedding in all honesty.
We also get a nice sub-plot with Princess Emily as well, as she is starting to get older and noticing boys more. The performance of a play is very important to her and again Amber must help out to ensure the young Princess will get the chance to perform and closer to the boy she likes.
I guess it is a decent follow-up to the first film last year with Netflix building on the success of that film, and who can blame them really? They certainly make a very big effort at Christmas time now and push quite a lot of original's through in November and December in the build up.
Rose McIver and Ben Lamb do have plenty of chemistry and work well together, something which is build on even more the second time round. Let's face it these types of films are just fantastic christmas guilty pleasures!
