This was the wedding to beat all weddings! When I met Becki and her Mum at The Wedding Fair North West in Manchester I just loved listening to them tell me about all the amazing things they had planned for Becki and Rob’s wedding at Carlton Towers, Yorkshire. From having Red Floral Architecture doing the flowers and table dressing to Howard Wing entertaining during the meal and obviously the stunning wedding venue itself…I had everything crossed they’d love me enough to book me as well!
The day was soon upon us and we made the drive from Lancashire over to north Yorkshire to the incredible 17th century Carlton Towers. The sun was beating down on us as we arrived and I soon got to work filming Flossy and Leigh working their magic on the girls. I love being there for this part of the day as everyone is giddy with excitement and there’s a real buzz in the air! Before Becki went to get her amazing Terri Fox wedding dress on we waited to see Rob arrive in his helicopter! Rob was ever so excited to get in to his wedding transport as you can see in the film!
The nerves really picked up as Becki added her finishing touches and let the bridesmaids come and see her. I love seeing everyone’s reactions to the bride just before she leaves to meet her groom. Dad’s reaction didn’t disappoint either and he had us all holding back the tears!
Wedding ceremonies are always full of emotion but Rob couldn’t hold back the tears any more once he saw his stunning bride walk down the aisle. They spent the whole time grinning at each other and it really was heart-warming to watch! After they signed the register they actually danced back down the aisle to the track I used for their wedding highlights film, right then I knew it was ‘the one’!
Sunglasses were at the ready as the guests made their way outside to sample the porn-star Martini’s and listen to a little bit of sax. The bride and groom were whisked away with some of their family in the helicopter while guests waved from the the gardens before heading back from some photos in the sunshine.
I knew the wedding breakfast would be non stop as Howard Wing was their entertainment (I’d filmed Howard Wing at a previous wedding last year at The Ashes, you can see that here) and I couldn’t wait to see what he’d have the guests doing at this wedding! I’m sure you can tell from the film that everyone loved him and everyone got involved…
The speeches were wonderful, lots of fighting back tears and lots of laughs…especially when the Best Man managed to spell something wrong on one of his sheets…
In the evening Becki had her make up touch ups before heading out to get a huge group shot on the stairs with all their sparklers. We then headed in to watch them do their first dance before everyone joined them on the dance-floor to party the night away…
