A Brief History Of Skateboarding

Posted on the 17 November 2016 by Infographixdirectory @infographixdir

Over the past 60 years skateboarding has grown in a huge way. Skateboarding started sometime in the late 1950s by a group of California surfers. These surfers were looking for a way to surf when there were no waves, so they created “sidewalk surfing”. Ten years later magazines began to publish about skateboarding culture and riding competitions were appear across California. Everything changed in the 1970s when urethane wheels were invented. Urethane wheels allowed for riders to better grip concrete and ride through ditches and ramps with ease. It was at this point that riders and manufacturers realized that skateboarding would never be the same.
