✔888 Bowburn ParkNew Durham FC won half of their 22 Division 3 league fixtures last season, finishing 5th in their debut season. As part of the Wearside League rejig they’ve been placed in the First Division for this season.

The club have also relocated from Framwellgate Moor to the former mining village of Bowburn, situated about 3 miles south-east of Durham city on the A177, just off the A1. Originally a small farming hamlet, named after the shape of the small burn that runs through it, Bowburn is closely linked to coal mining. Several coal mines were sunk in the area during the 19th century but extensive development did not begin until an entirely new Bowburn Colliery began to be sunk in 1906.

Bowburn Park is east of the village on Broadmeadows, within sight of the motorway, next to Bowburn Primary School. There's a full size and a junior pitch with container cabin change rooms, where there's refreshments available.

After an even first half Consett took control after the interval taking the lead with an early penalty, then clinching the points with a well worked goal in the 65th minute. There were 12 yellow cards during the game and both teams were reduced to ten men following a 'handbags' incident. The away team comfortably saw out the game and should have won by a bigger score.
