For the first timers, you must explore places that look like they don't get visited because they are places which help you make memories. Ask the locals, get lost and find new paths while finding destinations.

Avaricious travelers believe in getting in touch with the destination's depth by traveling in the public transports. It is one way in which you can explore the deepest lanes and spots you might not find otherwise. Trams and buses are especially the ones which help you get the grasp of the locality.
Collect souvenirs on the go

What is traveling when you don't collect memories to look back at? Well, souvenirs are the best way to keep the memories intact whenever you want to go back in time to find out what you did last summer. Pick them up from the locals, stores (not gift stores), and other places to bring the culture with them. Make sure you choose things that talk about the destination quite well. My brother went on a vacation to Miami beach when he bought me a hat and a pair of men's swimwear as souvenirs. You too can pick up gifts for your loved ones.
Documentation is necessary

We're not asking you click selfies while doing anything and everything while traveling. Well, you can take selfies but capture the destination and document what you feel out there is important. Make a journal and put down your experiences with photos to show them to your family and friends. If you do something like this that brings alive the memories, you are truly in love with traveling. Make sure you don't spend a lot of time on Facebook or Instagram and take note of every small and big detail that surround you.
Try local cuisine referred to you by the locals

Being foodies with a great taste of trying new cuisines, travelers generally opt for food spots which are referred to them local people and not Google. Whether it is a small joint in the corner of the city or the lavish restaurant with big names, try out the delicacies and figure out which served you authentic food. That has to be the former one rather than the biggies set up there.
Talk to the locals and learn their language
It is quite easy for you to carry a language translator with you to communicate with the local people but it takes guts to start the conversation and learn that language. Nope! We're not asking you to mug up everything and be as fluent as they are, but you must learn enough that when you come next, you won't have to refer the translator to communicate with them.
Get lost and find your way back

We know it sounds impossible to get lost with a GPS and all the technologies that man has been bestowed with, but what if you didn't use it? Getting lost is what every traveler loves because it opens up the opportunities for them to explore places better and also make them learn a lot of things while deciphering their way back. Try it and you wouldn't want to use maps ever again.
Be adventurous
Well the above-mentioned things definitely take a lot of guts to fulfill but if you are passionate about traveling, you wouldn't mind doing any of them. This in respect to being adventurous calls for challenging yourself to indulge in facing your fears. For example, I was scared of heights and then I tried cliff jumping which changed me and now I love falling off from heights because I faced fear. You too should so something adventurous.
