Rhine Falls

It is 150 meters wide and 23 meters high. It is located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zurich, between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhweisen/Dachsen, next to town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. This one is found to be the largest waterfall in Switzerland and Europe. 17,000 years ago this impressive wonder of nature was formed and is now the main attraction for countless visitors from all over the world.

Bridal Veil Falls

The Bridal Veil Falls is the smallest of the three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls. Located on the American side, Luna island separates it from the American falls and Goat island separated it from the Horseshoe falls. This is about 56 meters high, but rock bottom is about 21 meters. When you go to the Bridal Veil falls, Cave of the Winds is a must go attraction. Why the name Bridal Veil? Well, because it looks like a ‘Bridal Veil.’

Jog Falls

Joga/Gerosoppa/Jog Falls is located in Sagara taluk Shivamogga district. It is one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India. It is also ranked 13th in the world by waterfall database and is a major tourist attraction. Joga means falls in Kannada language. It is associated with nearby Linganmakki Dam across river Sharavathi. Before the onset of monsoon season, when there is not much water in the Linganmakki dam, the Jog Falls are a pair of thin streams of water trickling down the cliff. As the water collected in the dam is exclusively for generation of electricity; during monsoons local rain water is the source of water to the falls.

Angel Falls

It is a waterfall in Venezuela. It is the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall, with a height of 979 meters and a plunge of 807 meters. This waterfall has been known as the Angel Falls since the mid 20th century. They are named after Jimmie Angel, a US aviator, who was the first person to fly over the falls. Tis falls is the top attraction for tourists in Venezuela. But as it is located in an isolated jungle, the trip to waterfall becomes a complicated affair. But its scenic beauty is a tasty treat to eyes.

Gullfoss Waterfall

Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) is an iconic waterfall of Iceland offering a spectacular view of the forces and beauty of untouched nature. It is part of the Golden Circle tour, located in South Iceland on the Hvita (White) river which is fed by Iceland´s second biggest glacier, the Langjokull. The water plummets down 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon which walls reach up to 70 meters in height. On a sunny day shimmering rainbow can be seen over the falls.

The Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. In more modern terms Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world.

Facing the Falls is another sheer wall of basalt, rising to the same height, and capped by mist-soaked rain forest. A path along the edge of the forest provides the visitor with an unparalleled series of views of the Falls.

Kaieteur Falls

It is the world’s largest single drop waterfall by the volume of water flowing over it. It is 226 meters high and is about four times higher than Niagara Falls, on the border between Canada and US. And it is about twice the height of Victoria Falls, on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe in Africa. Located on the Potaro River in Kaieteur national park, it sits in a section of the Amazon rainforest included in the Potara-Siparuni region of Guyana. It serves as the major tourist attraction spot in Guyana.
