An unctuous, curved kitchen island stands opposite a volumetrically forms ceiling in the adjacent living room of this home in Hill Country, Texas. “We wanted to keep the color palette light and neutral by using a bright white for the walls and a subtle off-white for the cabinets,” says architect Ben Arbib, who led the renovation. “We also chose to accent the space with natural materials, from the white-washed oak floors and clear-coated pine accent wall to the steel fireplace and stair rails.”
