7 Single .WS Emoji Domains Expire Next Week

Posted on the 22 July 2018 by Worldwide @thedomains

World Emoji Day, Emojicon BK 2018 and a few other events have come and gone without much to report. Also, some time has passed since the last emoji domain update concerning expired auctions.

Very much like new gTLD renewals, the domain renewal grinch has devoured the once touted 21,000 emoji domain registrations, whittling registration numbers down to just over 1,000 at the time of publication.

And after this upcoming week, .WS emoji domain registration numbers are likely to slip just under 1,000 emoji domains registered.

236 .WS emoji and pictograph domains are set to expire this week, following the listed daily distribution and breakdown:

  • 39 – 7/22/2018 (17%)
  • 35 – 7/23/2018 (15%)
  • 36 – 7/24/2018 (16%)
  • 5 – 7/25/2018 (2%)
  • 67 – 7/26/2018 (28%)
  • 34 – 7/27/2018 (14%)
  • 20 – 7/28/2018 (8%)

And while most emoji domain investors appear to have quietly backed away and returned to their previously scheduled program, this week might bring folks bidding as the shark, duck, owl and scales .WS emoji domains are with bids and expiring Monday, July 23rd:

🦈.ws
🦆.ws
🦉.ws
⚖.ws

You might recall a few of the emoji domains above were to have been unconfirmed sales reported in early April. Also at the time of this publication, the following .WS emoji domains in expiring auction are without bids:

♋.ws – Cancer
☣.ws – Biohazard Sign
🤷.ws – Woman Shrugging

In addition to the listed emoji domain auctions, there are also a few notable pictograph .WS domains set to expire:

★.ws
☰.ws
✻.ws
♣.ws
♡.ws
✞.ws
♠.ws
☏.ws
♞.ws
☉.ws
❀.ws
✼.ws
☆.ws

My guess is the above pictograph domains will close with bids and likely be made available for hand registration once the expired process completes.

As for emoji domains and their future, most investors likely have their eyes set on 2019 release of 100 new emoji domains proposed for Unicode Version 12.

For now, we await what activity this week’s auctions brings about.

In closing and as always, perform your own due diligence to limit risk, yet increase the likelihood of realizing a sound domain investment.

That’s all for now, and have a good weekend!
