6 Tips To Deep Clean Your Home

Cleaning is a great way to relieve stress and have a positive impact on mental health. However, many people avoid deep cleaning simply because it might seem daunting or they don't know where to begin, so below are some tips to guide you:

1. Clean And Sanitise Your Fridge

Housing both raw and cooked foods, it's essential for the fridge to be kept clean and hygienic to reduce the risk of food poisoning. To clean the inside of your fridge, take out all your food and remove the shelves. Then wash the interior with warm water and dishwashing soap. We would suggest doing this every three to four months.

Ensure you maintain an odour-free fridge all year round by using a product such as Croc Odour XL which is fragrance free and designed to help neutralise and absorb odours, preventing cross contamination of food flavours whilst protecting the taste of food.

2. Tackle The Bathroom

The toilet can be one of the grubbiest parts of the home and is prone to attracting an immense build-up of bacteria. Make sure your toilet remains sparkling and germ-free with a 'Regime Clean' approach. This includes daily use of a rim block such as Bloo's new Fragrance Switch which will ensure a hygienically clean and fresh toilet. It provides two different scents between flushes to invigorate the senses by releasing a long-lasting fragrance in the bathroom.

Follow this with the use of a toilet cleaning gel to tackle any limescale build up in your basin. Ideally this should be used twice a week for deep cleaning and the ultimate shine.

3. Kill Up To 99.9% of Bacteria All Around The Home

There are many uses for bleach beyond the bathroom. Parazone Bleach Plus can be added to your cleaning routine to ensure your house remains germ-free, killing up to 99.9% of bacteria with each use. As we move through our homes we carry all sorts of germs from the outside world on the soles of our shoes. These germs can also live on surfaces for extended periods of time, so make sure that you mop your floor with disinfectant at least once a week.

Mix a small amount of bleach with your regular floor cleaner to tackle tough stains and sanitise your home at the same time. When it comes to all other surfaces, try diluting 200ml bleach with 5 litres of water, and use a damp cloth to wipe down and get rid of germs.

4. Spruce Up The Outdoors

Although summer 2021 has been a washout so far, it shouldn't stop you from planning some get-togethers, BBQs and garden parties and making the most of your outdoor space. Use an outdoor specialist such as Jeyes Fluid which can be used on a multitude of surfaces such as patios, paths, driveaways, decking areas and gardening tools to name some. It can also be used to help clean drains, limescale and rust on outdoor tables, killing up to 99.9% of germs.

5. Get Rid Of Limescale

Did you know that limescale build up starts from the very first time you use your appliance? One way to restore household items is by descaling them every three months. Products like Oust All Purpose Descaler help to restore and refresh household appliances like kettles, iron and showerheads to their best in just 10 minutes - removing up to 100% of limescale!

Not only will banishing limescale make your appliances last longer, but it will ensure maximum efficiency too. It's easy to use, just pop it in or on the appliance and let it do the hard work for you, while you continue with the rest of your chores, and return to find some pretty incredible results.
