Shouldn't we be at least a little bit ashamed about this? We can spend more than $1.6 billion on a presidential campaign in this country (and when other political races are figured in, the figure tops $3 billion), but our politicians tell us that we don't have the money to even feed our own poor children -- let alone the millions of children starving to death worldwide. Where is our compassion? We seem to be able to easily find the money to fight ridiculous and unnecessary wars, but have very little money to help feed our fellow human beings. Is killing humans really more important than feeding them?
