With the autumn in full swing, it's time to take out your warmer clothes and make the best of them by layering and putting them together in best way possible.
Most men have many neutrals in their closets when it comes to their fall clothes (neutrals are beige, gray, khaki, white, black, tan, ivory, navy blue, gray, camel, etc.), and, while it's important to have neutral pieces in your wardrobe, as they can easily represent the bases of your outfits or tone down a very colorful look, fall looks should not be resumed to that.
So, as the great Diana Vreeland would say, why don't you take a page from nature's look and sport some really interesting colors this season?
Here are six colors we believe you should put on this autumn:
Burgundy is a dark shade of red that has a very strong vibe. With a deep and rich feel, burgundy can be worn both during the day and the night and is sure to style up any look. Maybe it's the association with the wine made in the French region of Burgundy, maybe it's something else, but one thing is for sure: wearing burgundy will add a lot of elegance and subtlety to an outfit.
Burgundy is not only an elegant color, but it also a versatile one. You can mix it with many colors, such as beige, black and, if done right, even yellow for a casual look. Moreover, burgundy goes with most skin colors and enhances your natural features, giving your more presence wherever you are.
One might not think of green as a good color to wear in the fall, but done right, green can become a good wardrobe presence. Our main tip when it comes to rocking a green coat or a green jacket, is to wear a shade of green that is darker and rich. Emerald green is one of your best options, which, even if you wear it on a muted garment, will make you look great. Just like burgundy, green goes with most skin tones and plays beautifully when mixed with neutrals.
Men who want to make an impression in the fall have a good chance of doing just that by incorporating orange garments in their wardrobes. Orange might be a color that is hard to pull off, but it can be done. Given that orange is such an impactful color; a good idea is to wear it with a neutral such as brown or tan. Alternatively, you can wear it with red or green, for great sartorial results.
Orange looks best on darker skin tones, but in smaller shades, it can also look amazing on people with very light skin.
Not a color directly associated with the fall, aqua green is very good color for men to wear. Aqua green is the perfect shade of green to wear if you want to take everyone by surprise and make a strong impact wherever you wear it.
Mauve mist is a very on-trend color and we are happy about that, as this means that more colors in mauve mist will come out, which is a great thing, as this color is lovely. If you enjoy it just as much and can't find clothes that are exactly mauve mist, luckily there are many light mauve clothes out there.
To finish the list off, we wanted to pick a neutral on the list of autumn colors as well, as neutrals can create true wow-moments as well. A rich shade of any neutral can make a statement and navy blue, which can be debated on whether it's a neutral or not, is the poster color for that. Neutral or no neutral, navy blue is a good alternative to your gray, beige or black clothes, especially when it comes to business suits or casual wear.
Put on some navy and you are ready to go!
Wearing these colors this fall will not only enhance your style factor, but it can also take your attitude to another level. Autumn tends to make people more melancholic and moody, so wearing something more vibrant can make your attitude better as well.
We always say that the way you look does influence the way you feel about the world, others and yourself, as well as the way you act, the better the you look, the better you want to be, so why not take control over your look and make the best of it?
