Dine Out Across Glasgow & Raise Money for Disadvantaged Young People

As a member of the YesChef Committee, it's been great to see the support from the businesses of Glasgow. One of these is 5pm.co.uk.

5pm.co.uk has teamed up with Action For Children to donate its restaurant profits to the Charity's Moving On Project. Between 10th-23rd April, if customers book selected restaurant offers on 5pm.co.uk, the company will give 100% of its profits from each booking to Action For Children.

Some of the most popular Glasgow restaurants on 5pm.co.uk are taking part. Diners can enjoy a meal at a variety of different restaurants across Glasgow including Café Andaluz, Corinthian, Brian Maule at Chardon D'Or and City Merchant.

All the customer has to do is book and dine at a participating restaurant via 5pm.co.uk.

The profits from these offers will then be donated and help transform the lives of young people across Scotland.

Moving On Project & YesChef

Action For Children's Moving On Project turns the lives around of young men who've been in Polmont Young Offenders institution. It aims to reduce the risk of the individuals reoffending.

Part of the project includes YesChef, a programme that trains six young men with cooking skills. It gives the would-be-chefs work experience in restaurants and top catering facilities like the Tennent's Training Academy. The training culminates in an event for 500 people at Glasgow's Hilton where the six boys will show off their training and cook a six-course meal for each guest. Find out more about the dinner and how you can attend here.

Young men who've previously taken part in the project have gone on to work in restaurants throughout Glasgow. The project makes a massive long-term difference to the lives of the men taking part.

5pm.co.uk founder, Ronnie Somerville, says: "By simply booking lunch or dinner, people can help 5pm.co.uk raise £1000s for this fantastic charity."

"The 'Moving On' project changes young men's futures, setting them on a different path and breaking the cycle of crime. The project has been extremely successful in reducing reoffending and helping young people supported by the charity move into a career in catering."

"We're imploring diners to book a meal out between the 10 th and the 23 rd April and help raise as much money as possible for this important project."
