Plot: Trying to start over, Adam searches for redemption as he returns to his old neighborhood to put to rest his demons while the brother of the man he killed seeks revenge.

Story: 5LBs of Pressure starts when Adam (Evans) finishes his parole and returns to his old neighbor. He wants to connect with his son Jimmy (Pankow) but his mother Donna (Leonidas) doesn’t want him around. Meanwhile, Mike (Culkin) sees an opportunity to impress his cousin Leff (Pettyfer) in the local drug world.
When the two worlds collide, Mike sees it as an opportunity to help his friend face his brother’s killer. However, Adam wants a peaceful life to make up for his mistakes. As the worlds collide, the problems people are facing comes back to haunt them.
Verdict on 5LBs of Pressure
5LBs of Pressure is a crime thriller following an ex-con trying to put his life back together in his old neighbourhood. However, he ends up clashing with a local upstart want-to-be drug dealer who learns the harsh reality of this life.
This movie has a few subplots occurring at once, showing the ripple effect of a murder. It follows people who were victims family members, and the family he left behind. Each character has something going on, leading to an explosion conclusion. However, it might have one too many stories going on, as a couple of characters feel like too many for the greater connection the story has to offer.
