5 Things to Do Today in Kingston-upon-Thames

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

Here are 5 things to do in Kingston-upon-Thames.

1. Take a walk from Kingston to Hampton court along the tow path. This picturesque walk will take you about a leisurely 45 minutes. Once you get there you can have a coffee in one of the many coffee shops on Bridge road, visit the palace or If you are exhausted then catching the bus back to Kingston is easy. It will cost you about 2 pounds.
2. Walk over Kingston bridge into Hampton Wick and have an amazing meal at II Fiume Italian restaurant. Must be the best Italian in the area. It’s a small intimate restaurant with an excellent and extensive wine list. Avoid the Italian chains and make sure you go here instead.
3. If you are feeling energetic then meet at the Albion pub at 7.30 for a run with the stragglers running club. The club takes various runs at a range of distances and paces. If you are a beginner or more experienced this really friendly club will more than meet your needs.
4. Have a coffee and snack lunch at the Terrace coffee shop. Out of the many coffee houses in Kingston this one punches high. This is a must when you want to take a break and have a rest from the shops.
5. Spend an hour or so perusing the Bentalls department store. This is a very modern store which has a traditional feel about it. Non chain department stores are few and far between and Kingston has this excellent one.
