- Take a free ferry. Behind Centraal Station you will be able to board a ferry that will take you to Amsterdam Noord. There are three ferries available taking you to various parts. Have a look at this which includes a timetable and more information.
- Visit the Amsterdam public library. This is a great free resource with a roof top terrace with magnificent views of the whole city. Check out the website here. Translate it into English if you have to.
- Take in a free lunchtime concert at Concertgebouw.
- Go on a self guided walking tour of the city. The information for these can be bought for 3 Euros (sorry – not quite free). There are available from the Amsterdam tourist information office.
- Explore the floating flower markets. Wander around these impressive and extensive markets. Immerse yourself in the beautiful smells and you don’t need to spend a thing.
