5 Things to Do at Traders Hotel, Singapore

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

For the last three days I have been fortunate enough to be staying at the Traders hotel in Singapore as part of our honeymoon.

The Trader’s hotel is brilliantly positioned about ten minutes walk from Orchard road, the main wide shopping street of Singapore – a huge number of shops and department stores all essentially chilled to escape the humidity outside

These 5 things may tempt you to book the Traders hotel.

One

As just mentioned the hotel is superbly located. Close to the shops and close to the excellent hop on hop off bus that will take you on a tour of Singapore stopping off at the main attractions such as the Singapore flyer, Raffles hotel and key areas such as China town.

Two

Have breakfast in the Traders clubroom. We were lucky enough to be staying at the very top of the hotel (18th floor) in a clubroom overlooking the swimming pool. As we were staying here we were given the chance to have breakfast one floor down in the clubroom. This quiet room has brilliant views, overlooking the green areas of Singapore where the prime minister lives. We could also have had dinner in the main dining room located near the lobby.

Three

For one night we were asked to dine at A Hoi’s restaurant. This is located prettily by the pool and spa and provides a very relaxing atmosphere. We found the food and service to be excellent and we couldn’t have been looked after more. The chili crab – a specialty of A Hoi’s was excellent and the crab was huge. We also had some amazing prawns and chicken rice served in half a pineapple. Nutcrackers and plenty of serviettes were provided to tackle this creature. Reassuringly you can see the crabs swimming in a tank in the main restaurant area.

Four

If you need to use Wi-Fi on your travels then the Traders hotel will suit you well. The Traders hotel makes it very easy to log in (just your room number and first three digits of your surname). Once on the signal is super fast and is the best Wi-Fi I have had in a hotel so far. In the lobby area and pool area there is no need to enter anything and once you select the signal you can browse the Internet and check your e-mail straight away.

Five

Ife you feel energetic enough then you can also enjoy the 24 hour gym. We noticed as we were walking by that people were exercising close to midnight. There is also a Spa which you can have treatments and massage. You can also enjoy the relaxation areas, Jacuzzi and sauna. These are separate for men and women.
