As New Year’s Eve is fast approaching, we are giving you some hints on how to get the perfect look on the craziest night of the year. This season, it is easier than ever to be fashionable. The accent is on either your eyes, or your lips, but never both. Plus, there are several different makeup trends, so everyone will find the one that suits them the most. We have smoky eyes, glittery and shimmery eye shadows, the ever fashionable cat eyes are back in grand style, and so are the bold dark red lips. One thing to keep in mind is that you should not match your makeup with the party outfit. It is a huge fashion no-no. If you are wearing prints and colours, the makeup should stick to neutral, and vice versa.
Here are the hottest holiday trends.
1. All-Over Matte Look

2. Add Shimmer

Sparkles, shimmers, glitters , sequins – these should be your mantra this winter. Add drama to your look with silver, gold, or bronze metallic eye shadow. Think of your lids as of a canvas and apply the shadow all over them. Do not refrain from combining more colours. Creamy shadows are more dense and lasting, and you want your makeup to really make a statement. Add shimmer to other places, too, but do not go overboard and go with one place at a time. If you are going for glittery eyes, skip the lips and décolletage. Likewise, if applying shimmer to your cheekbones, use a lighter eye shadow.
3. Use Nude Makeup

4. Highlight the Inner Corners of Your Eyes

Apply just a hint of shimmery eye shadow on the inner corners of your eyes to draw attention to them. Use a metallic shade, but make sure it matches your complexion. If you are fair, champagne is your colour, for the olives, gold is the right choice, and for dark complexions, bronze is the safest bet.
5. Get Glossy Berry Lips

Red lipstick is back, but this time with a dramatic turn. Stand out from the crowd by applying a bold dark, nearly black, lipstick. The shade should complement your complexion, but luckily dark shades are suitable for all complexions, and all occasions. If you decide on a more vampy, or goth look, go for a completely black shade, but if you are aiming at a more girly style, a lighter one is perfectly ok.
