Hello Freckles 5 From This Month October
Every month I'll reference how quickly the weeks have flown by, this month is no different but instead of dwelling on that; let's talk about my favorite things this month - from food, to beauty, to general moments too.
Even though I'm very careful about where I wear them (and consider the weather forecast for the day ahead too) I'm so pleased I bought these Converse. They're the All Star II with the lunarlon sole and the guy in Schuh tried to suggest I should size up because of it, I politely declined (doesn't he know I've been wearing Converse since I was 14/15?!) and stuck with my usual size and they fit fine. Wearing opportunities will be limited as we get into winter, but for dry days they're great!

It's Autumn, who doesn't like autumn? All the leaves falling from the trees and fading from red through to yellow, it's beautiful. I'm still yet to go for my walk sipping hot chocolate and taking in all the colours, but I will soon. Even if it's just a walk along the river after work. For me, autumn is all about bringing out the cosy knits, chai lattes and crunching through piles of leaves. Is it too late for conkers now? I think they're usually September, so I might've missed them this year.

With Autumn comes Halloween and whilst I don't really bother with parties and fancy dress - it's just not for me, I can fully appreciate the limited edition range from Lush. Lord of Misrule is one of their bath bombs released last year and this year it's back, but they've also brought out a shower cream. It's moisturising and the scent lingers on your skin afterwards.

Speaking of scent, I've been a big fan of YSL Black Opium this month. I know I raved about it in this post a while ago, but I find it really suits this time of year. I have the parfum so one spray should suffice, but I'm guilty to opting for 2 or 3 on a morning before I head to work. What can I say, I just really like the smell. I like to use Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod body lotion then apply this - the two scents really compliment each other and I find it lasts longer too.

From a seven course seasonal showcase at Artisan, to attending the Food Hall launch in Fenwick, it's been a busy month for food. I visited Byron in Newcastle, went back to Hop and Cleaver again and I've highlighted a great place for pancakes if you're in the North East.

Other highlights from this month include being shortlisted for Best Lifestyle Blog in the NE Blogger Awards - that's a pretty big deal and I'm both excited and nervous for the awards evening in two weeks time! New music from Adele - yep it needed another mention after Sunday's post, coconut lattes and chatting with Sarah, cosy Topshop sweatshirts, pamper showers with Molton Brown, dreaming of another spa day soon, listening to Of Monsters and Men's latest album, getting excited for Spectre (I'm seeing it tomorrow) and helping my sister set up her own foodie blog - take a look!

What's stood out for you this month?
