Hey guys! Last time I talked to you guys, I was still in Paris with my school for our five day trip before going to Strasbourg and now Munich with my friends (with Berlin to come!). During our time in Paris, we did all of the typical touristy things- Versailles, the Louvre, and Ladurée deliciousness. But in addition to these excursions, we also did some things that I have never done, even after having gone many times to Paris. Despite waiting in an hour long line because of new security measures, the architecture of the Louis Vuitton Foundation had a unique fun-house like exhibit (pictured above) which was somewhat worth the extensive wait. The exhibit included a light/water room with a flashing light and a room that was pitch black except for a single light. It's sort of hard to explain, but let's just say it was awesome. In general, the inside walls were a bit empty but it was still interesting to see.
Another place I enjoyed was Centre Pompidou, which is an area thriving with arts galore. The area used to be an old parking lot according to JP, my art history teacher, but now it has been transformed into a unique museum. One of the most notable sights to see there is the Jeff Koons exhibit, which includes larger than life sculptures resembling balloon animals. In addition, the museum features sculptor Marcel Duchamp, with whom we studied in class as well.
I hope that you guys enjoyed these few pictures! I'm already in Munich, meaning that I have a slew of Strasbourg pictures to come. Talk soon! xoxo
