41 Inspirational Quotes for Difficult Times

Posted on the 05 August 2020 by Melissa Jiggetts @jiggettsmelissa

Just when you seem to run into something good, something bad always finds a way to sneak into your life. These difficult times can make it hard to make it through the day and find the hope to make it through another day. I found that sometimes the best way to get through difficult times is to drive right through them but that requires a little extra fuel in your tank. You ever had a friend or family member that said the right thing at the right time and it was like a light bulb going off in your head? Well, did you know that inspirational quotes can work in the same way?

Why Motivational Quotes Are Important

Hearing an inspirational word from a friend or family member can often give you the strength you need at that very moment to continue on.

But, we can’t always get that motivation from others, sometimes we have to motivate ourselves. I learned that surrounding yourself with positivity can do wonders for your mindset and your circumstances.

Positive quotes and words of inspiration appeal to your subconscious, so by reading them daily, posting them on sticky notes around your home, or placing them in picture frames, you can get the focus and drive you to need to get through those difficult times.

Reading inspirational quotes will not only give you the drive and focus you need to push forward but they are also a way to lift your spirits. The best part is that you can feel relieved immediately!

We all go through sorrows and these sorrows no matter how big or small, there is a way to get through them. Even when we are at our lowest point, going through the most difficult times, and we have nothing left to hold onto, there is hope.

to love life, to love it even
when you have no stomach for it
and everything you’ve held dear
crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,
your throat filled with the silt of it.
When grief sits with you, its tropical heat
thickening the air, heavy as water
more fit for gills than lungs;
when grief weights you like your own flesh
only more of it, an obesity of grief,
you think, How can a body withstand this?
Then you hold life like a face
between your palms, a plain face,
no charming smile, no violet eyes,
and you say, yes, I will take you
I will love you, again.

― Ellen Bass

And one day, it’ll fall from the sky and hit you in the head real hard and that time, you won’t have to put it back in the sky again.
