4 Incredible Destinations That all Photographers Will Love

As a family of wanderlusters, it is important for us to document our adventures; both in words with the blog, and in the accompanying photographs.

When you capture an amazing picture, it is something special to always remind you of your adventures.

If you are a keen photographer, there are opportunities for these types of photos everywhere! Just be careful not to get yourself into any danger while snapping, since medical treatment abroad can cost thousands of dollars.

Here are four of the most amazing places you need to go, whether you are a budding photographer just starting out, or a pro with heavy-duty equipment.

1. The Sahara Desert

There's a reason this is the setting for so many amazing films - the landscape has to be seen to be believed. Head to Marrakech to take snaps of the snake charmers, before going deep into the dunes to capture camels, Tuareg tea ceremonies and some of the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets you will ever see.

All with the stunning backdrop of the sand dunes.

2. India

For somewhere full of colour and life, you can't get much better than India. An incredibly diverse area full of different religions and traditions, India is a treat for all the senses, especially sight!

Try and get into the wild to see rare animals, such as Bengal tigers, in real life, and time your trip with the Holi Festival for a literal explosion of colour and happiness!

Check out the Taj Mahal at sunrise and a temple at sunset for stunning views that will create magical photographs.

3. Lalibela, Ethiopia

One of the best things about this part of central Ethiopia is that it is so unspoilt by tourists.

The small town is found a two-day drive from the Addis Ababa (or an hour flight if you want the direct route!) and boasts 13 incredible churches that have been chiselled out of the rock. These churches are still working, and so you might spot white-robe clad monks wandering through the stone corridors between each of them.

This is a beautiful place to take photographs, both of the unique churches but also the scenery from the mountains.

4. New York

If you are looking to take pictures of interesting and eclectic people (with their permission, of course!), New York City is the place to be. One of the most photographed places in the world, it's easy to see why; with the iconic yellow cabs, ever-bright lights of Times Square, enormous skyscrapers and quirky hidden street art, there is something to be captured around every corner.

The challenge with somewhere as regularly photographed as NYC is finding the angles or hidden gems others miss and creating a different shot for all the others. Luckily, you'll never be short of things to do - even if you're short on time.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your camera (and plenty of memory cards) and get snapping! Whether you keep them for your own private collection, share them with friends or get them blown up onto enormous canvases to show off in your home, there is something amazing about taking a really great photo.
