4 Boho Ideas for the Home

You probably have so much in your home already that you can use and re-purpose to give your space that eclectic vibrant boho look. It’s not difficult~~da lot of planning~~you want to go with the feel, the flow and the look that comes together in a new way. Now this may go against the grain of what you’ve previously done or think~~but, trust yourself and give it a try~~you may just find that pushing yourself to this ‘edge’ brings a new light to your life!

Here’s some things that I love to do~~

1. Mix up wall works. Re-think how you group and hang artwork and pictures on your walls.  Mix up types of frames.  Put black and white and color together.  Go for different sizes.  To test out how the groupings will look, lay them on the floor and move  them around like a puzzle until you get the vibe you like. Keep an ‘eye’ for the distance between each piece of artwork.  Also, don’t be afraid to put something three-dimensional in the grouping.

2. Buck the trends. Think white and winter white for the chilly months for your bed.  It’s not just for summer.  Give it a warm and comfy look with different pillow colors, sizes and combinations.  Gather up pillows with various patterns, solids, different fabrics like silk and burlap. Use lighting ambiance. Don’t forget the beauty of overlapping and layering.

3.  Throws & Layers. Add warmth and coziness with throws~~on beds, chairs, ottomans and more.  I like to use upholstery fabric and make my own throws (or have a seamstress put them together for me)…it’s so easy.  Just decide the size you want (go for big to wrap yourself up in~~60×72), the types of fabrics (I use a solid color on one side and a design on another), stitch it together, add trim and tassels if you like.

4. Go ugly duckling. Display the odd and unusual. There’s beauty in everything. There’s purpose in everything~~and purpose in ways other than what’s obvious.
