3-D Printing Spider Discovered

Now this is exactly my-inner-entomologist-type-of-news… A species of arachnid has been discovered in a Peruvian rain forest by biologist Phil Torres, with the crazy ability to “print” an elaborate version of itself to scare away predators. There were other species in the Cyclosa genus which makes crude decoys but this level of detail shown by this new found spider is truly astonishing. It even shakes its web to make the “doppelganger” look more lively.

The artisan creates the “other” using old egg sacs, vegetation and insect carcasses and crafts arachnid statues with features like legs. Look above and despair…
