I signed up for Dewey's 24 hour Read-a-Thon before I realized I was working all day both Saturday and Sunday, and that my daughter was coming home for a short weekend visit. But fear not! I'm going to do some reading, just not the full 24 hours, with as much gusto as I can manage.
See? I'm not a complete loser.
Dewey was a book blogger extraordinaire I never had the chance to meet before she passed away. I wish I had had the pleasure. I think it's wonderful other bloggers are carrying on her legacy and the 24-hour read is one fantastic idea. In fact, it's one my library may adopt for Banned Books Week next year. I've already volunteered myself for the graveyard shift, because I'm just that much of a nut bag.
Since I'm doing an abbreviated verson of the Challenge, I thought I'd read short stories instead of longer works. Hey, there's logic there!
