Perhaps the only thing cuter than an adorable household pet is an adorable household pet curled up for a nap with their favorite plushie toy. There’s nothing like an animal cuddling with the toys we loved in our early childhoods to get the cuteness juices flowing.
The actual reasons for which animals cuddle up with or play with stuffed animals can vary greatly. For some, it can simply be a source of soft warmth to keep them feeling safe during their naptime. For others, these stuffed animals can represent prey. This is especially apparent in dogs, which can sometimes thrash their plush animals around or rip them when they play. Dogs that were weaned too early from their mothers may also exhibit behavioral problems and may try to nurse from their plush animals – even as adults, this behavior still makes them feel safe.
