With all the great shows coming out recently on streaming services, we can’t help but think that it’s now a far better choice over cable TV as the top household entertainment.

1. Netflix
Ever since Netflix appeared on everyone’s radars and became the standard for which streaming services are held against, it has continued to dominate the market with movies, series, and exclusives. In a way, tuning in to Netflix is just like snacking on a can of Pringles; once you pop, you can’t stop.
A lot of other streaming services are out to get Netflix’s crown but with the way things are going now, they are still miles ahead of the competition which makes a Netflix subscription worth every penny that you’re paying for.
2. Disney+
If you’re like us, then you probably also went crazy with the MCU’s recentWandaVision episodes. From when that S.W.O.R.D. agent crawled through that large-diameter steel piping system to infiltrate Westville to when we saw how Wanda took matters into her own hands, we just couldn’t contain our excitement for what the show has in store.
In fact, we can’t wait to see what other surprises Disney+ has lined up for its subscribers. With all the upcoming shows down the pipeline:Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, The Mandalorian, and a bunch of others in development, alongside its extensive digital library of Disney animated classics, movies, and shows, your family will never run out of fun things to watch.
3. HBO Max
HBO Max is coming in strong to the streaming arena with its catalog of originals like Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, Silicon Valley, Big Little Lies, and a whole lot more. It has also acquired the license to stream popular shows such as The Big Bang Theory, South Park, Rick and Morty, and Friends.
Subscribers may also stream content from other WarnerMedia properties like DC Comics, Looney Tunes, Crunchyroll, and even CNN. Even if the service doesn’t currently have 4K content, it is still a formidable foe with all of its other features including multiple viewing support, simultaneous streams, and offline downloads on mobile apps.
4. Hulu
While Hulu is still trailing behind some of the top players in the industry, it still holds its own ground with its diverse set of options. On top of its huge library of classic shows and movies, it also offers a wide array of live TV options with over 70 channels of sports, entertainment, and news programs. What it lacks in original and 4K content, it makes up for in this area.
Hulu has recently announced the addition of 14 Viacom channels to its current lineup. Although they’re still not on the service yet, expect channels such as BET, MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and Paramount Network to show up sometime soon.
5. Peacock
At only $4.99 per month, you would think that you wouldn’t be getting much from NBC’s Peacock streaming service. Think again.
Peacock offers three tiers to its subscribers:
An ad-sponsored free plan with over 13,000 hours worth of content;
A Premium account with over 20,000 hours of content and several live options;
And a Premium Plus plan that has all of the Premium accounts content sans ads when you play on-demand shows and movies.
Although Peacock doesn’t have a lot of original shows on its list, a lot of NBC’s hits and a few non-NBC titles can be accessed if you’re feeling nostalgic.
6. Amazon Prime Video
You have two options to have access to Amazon Prime Video’s contents. First, a standalone Amazon Video subscription at $8.99 a month. Second, via an Amazon Prime account at $12.99 monthly.
Amazon Prime Video focused on creating original shows in recent years. This has given us titles like The Man in the High Castle, The Boys, Patriot, The Grand Tour, and several other high-quality content. Most of their originals are at par with Netflix’s shows. The only advantage of Netflix is its deeper library.
There are several other streaming apps and services that have great content at very reasonable prices but these 6 are our best bets for binging and weekend marathons with the family.
