2021 Chevy Colorado Revealed with Fresh New Looks

Posted on the 18 June 2020 by Thiruvenkatam Chinnagounder @tipsclear

We saw 2021 Chevrolet Colorado last october ZR2 form, but the Bowtie brand has waited until now to show what the standard pickup will look like with its new face. The good news is that the truck is still doing very well after all these years.

Chevy revealed photos of the standard Colorado on Thursday, showing its new face and adjusted tailgate. As we saw with the 2021 Colorado ZR2, the front clip grille widens, although the split grille remains itself. It's a very light refresh, but it's just enough to keep Colorado up to date, especially alongside the totally redone Chevy Silverado sitting at dealerships.

The back of Colorado also abandons the traditional Chevy badge to imitate the tailgate of the Silverado. Now the rear says "Chevrolet" with the name engraved on the tailgate. Matt Noone, director of exterior design for Chevy trucks, said the decision was made after the brand was successful with the look that tipped the latest Silverado. Of course, this design was also the norm for Chevy trucks years ago.

The higher grille is meant to widen the Colorado, but the look also benefits the front air dam. The new look sculpts the air barrier for better aerodynamics and to increase the approach angle of the truck. The overhaul of the air barrier also allows drivers to completely remove it if they wish.

As this is a light refresh, Chevy did not delve into the mechanics of the pickup. Thus, a 2.5-liter inline four, a 3.6-liter V6 and a 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine all remain on the menu. Truck buyers looking for something new, however, will find an optional one-inch lift kit for the Colorado 2021 and there are three new colors to choose from. Inside, the cabin remains the same, but an 8.0-inch touch screen is now standard on the LT version and above. New wheel designs and two new appearance packs complete the changes.

As for the price, the smallest pickup from Chevrolet becomes more expensive for the new model year, but for good reason. While buyers will see the starting price increase by $ 4,000, it's because the brand has removed the basic extended cab model, which started at $ 22,395 after the destination. The least expensive Colorado will now be the extended cab work truck model, which costs $ 26,395.

For a true apple-to-apple comparison, the Work Truck variant costs $ 500 more than the outgoing model after a $ 400 increase in the suggested retail price and a $ 100 increase in destination charges, which now ring out at $ 1,195 . Production of the redesigned pick-up starts this month.
