2019 Super Bowl Parties & Fails

Well 2019 Super Bowl 53 went down like a lead balloon. IF you could even watch it. Seems at least one major cable company went down in a large portion of the USA and fans were pissed! I know, because it happened to me and Susan.

She hosts the bowl every year for family and a few friends. She texted me a few hours before and said her cable was out. (Mine was not) So I said, “let’s have it at my house” to which she said that the cable company said it would be on in time for the Bowl. (It wasn’t).

My husband made tons of sausage balls for the party. (Bless his heart) We packed up the beer (not made with corn syrup and frankly who cares) and we headed to Susan’s. NOTHING is worse than watching a blank screen on tv. At 6:30 we took measures into our own hands and hooked up antennas, hot spots, paid for streaming on YouTube and guess what? WE STILL COULDN’T SEE THE SUPER BOWL!

So just before half-time, Big Daddy and I bailed. Yep, we committed the best friend cardinal sin and bailed. We offered for everyone to come to our house where we had a different cable provider and knew we could watch the game. But they were determined to wait it out on their big screen. We watched the half-time show (what was that?) and all the commercials plus watched the last half of the WORST Super Bowl game in the history of pigskin. Susan and her crowd did not.

After the game ended, suddenly she had cable again. She is planning to take them to court. I plan to be a character witness. I mean we had food for days and all that prep time? Somebody has to pay for this. How does an entire national big cable company go down during the super bowl, then magically come back on after? There were a lot of theory’s but we feel it was the Russians.

Now about the game. OK it just sucked. It was really bad. One touch down scored the whole game? I mean really? I have seen middle school football games more entertaining. And the half-time sh^tshow? I mean I like Maroon 5 but it was nothing to write home about. Sorry Adam.

I get it though. The band was under heat to not even perform. But he did it. Played it safe and even pulled in some of the big Rappers. No politics. Just safe. So thank you for that Maroon 5! It wasn’t all bad though. I mean Adam did take off his shirt. And thank God because his tank top looked like a bad 70’s curtain from the thrift store. So many memes.

Now the commercials. They weren’t the best but better than last year. Less politics, less seriousness and more fun. The worst  was from Turbo Tax: RoboChild. Sooooooo bad:

Yep, so bad. But there were some good ones! My Favorite was Amazon-Not Everything Makes the Cut:

I’m still chuckling. Then were was Pepsi-OK:

And Doritos always makes the cut:

And that was Super Bowl 53, 2019. I still have a hard time with the Roman Numerals.

What was your favorite commercial? What was your least fav? Let me know!

Cheer’s Y’all!
