The Super Eagles of Nigeria have become the first team to make it to the round of 16 of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt with a 1-0 win over Guinea, Wednesday.
Kenneth Omeruo headed the West Africans ahead in the 73rd minute from a Simon Moses corner kick.
The Nigerians had dominated play for a long spell during the encounter but could not convert their chances.
However, after waves of attack in the final twenty minutes of play, Omeruo who is an on-loan Chelsea star, powered in a corner kick from winger Simon.
With the win, Nigeria now have six points from two games meaning that they have sealed a place in the round of 16.
Their next match and final Group B encounter will be against debutants Madagascar on Sunday, June 30th.
