I spent this holiday season like a college student on winter break, fully embracing laziness. I banished alarms, ate big breakfasts at noon, toasted champagne in the morning, spent full days in my new plaid pajamas, and relished quality time with the Urban Farmer and Julep. We watched Elf, A Christmas Story and Clue and barely faced the gray days. It was guilt-free laziness at its best and a much needed period of recuperation (no small feat for a freelancer!). The living room never felt so cozy!
In the midst of the homebody spell, I did take some time to reflect. I took on a lot more work this past year, so even though posting may have been spottier, I’m proud of this space, my collection of writing and recipes. It’s all too easy for me to look on the horizon for what’s next and start setting too long a list of goals. I end up feeling overwhelmed or feeling like I’m not doing enough. For 2017, my goal is to step back and celebrate my milestones more. This is a desire I have expressed before, so this year, I bought myself a Passion Planner to hold myself accountable.

… traveled to Brooklyn and made a pit stop in Harrisburg.
… made a cake for the sweetest couple.
